This particular Thobe originates from the Beer El-Sabe' in the Naqab desert, worn by Bedouin women. This Thobe has distinctive long, wing-like sleeves referred to as Bardan. These sleeves were traditionally tied at the back while working to allow easier movement. They could also serve practical purposes, such as carrying a child, holding small items while running errands, or even covering the face modestly in public.
This Thobe is a one-of-a-kind piece estimated to be 70-80 years old.
